Fashion Obsession of the Day

My love of literal animal prints continues with this adorable owl print dress. This doesn't quite fit the upcoming forecast (snow!), but with a blazer and gray tights, this can so work for winter.

Fashion Obsession of the Day

Umm, yeah. I'm gonna need these Eiffel Tower tights. Like now.

My future boyfriend

Swoon.

Definitely not your average shirtdress. The oversized waist tie is super flattering and the shoulder cutouts give it a touch of sexiness. Hopefully your office is warm enough this season though. I have to keep a space heater at my desk, so this dress would have to wait for spring.

Thanksgiving thoughts

It might be too soon to start reflecting on this past year, but Thanksgiving has me thinking about how grateful I am for all the amazing things that happened in 2010 (yes, this is one of those cheesy Thanksgiving posts). It was Thanksgiving of last year when my brother and I were (half) joking around we should travel to Paris. A month later we booked our plane tickets. I always said one day I would run a marathon, and this year I did. I never really wanted to ride 100 miles on my bike, but it happened. I feel so lucky to have been able to check so many things off of my bucket list this year. But now I'm thinking about how I can top it next year. What's on your bucket list?

PS: I know I've been MIA lately. I just needed to disconnect a bit. But have no fear, I am here to stay.

Fashion Obsession of the Day

I have an addiction to striped tops. Add a sheer polka dot sleeve and I absolutely can't resist.

Fashion Obsession of the Day

I've been carrying around the same faux leather cross-body bag from H&M (I probably paid $14 for it) for almost a year now, and frankly, it's time for an upgrade. This geometric bag from - who else - Marc by MJ is the perfect size with bold buckle details and a whimsical printed lining. Cough, Christmas, cough.

I love me a sweater dress. But who doesn't? All I can think of when I see this winter white sweater dress is ladies who lunch, with its contrasting ladylike bow and ribbon appliques. Its classy and timeless shape make it perfect for a holiday work party or festivities with your man's parents.

Beautiful Weekend

Did you see that? That was the weekend flying by. Mine included errands, pancakes and a solo walk in the rain. Sorry for not being very eloquent today. I'm sitting on a couple tough life-changing decisions and my brain is all a jumble.

Fashion Obsession of the Day

I was first introduced to Stevie Nicks when my mom put a Fleetwood Mac tape (remember those?) in the car when I was a girl. I remember thinking how beautiful her voice was. Now 15 years later, I still love Stevie's entrancing voice and her witchy style - fringe, bell sleeves, scarves, flowy skirts. She would have totally worn this velvet and fringe dress.

Fashion Obsession of the Day

It's been way too long since I featured a Marc by MJ piece here. Quite possibly my favorite line ever, Marc by MJ is modern and innovative. Fashion trends are born at MJ shows. And this ladylike lace dress proves just how versatile the line can be. I also wouldn't be surprised if we saw this on Blair Waldorf on an upcoming episode of Gossip Girl (am I the only one still watching that show?).

Fashion Obsession of the Day

I'm a flats girl. You will very rarely see me in heels unless it's a special occasion. But these heeled oxford pumps make it easy to change my mind. Giving the men's footwear trend a feminine touch, the contrasting textures of the wool and leather also give these pumps luxe character. I love these paired with a pencil skirt and tights or with cuffed jeans and socks.

A little bit disorganized

Yup. Sounds about right. Hopefully this weekend I can get un-scatterbrained. Hope you enjoy yours. It's supposed to snow in upstate New York. Although by January I am cursing the cold weather, there's something about the first snowfall that's so magical and romantic.

Fashion Obsession of the Day

Epaulets gone crazy! This fringe shoulder sweater looks like a combination of a cute button front top and a pony. Good luck getting this to fit under your coat without looking like a quarterback, though.

Fashion Obsession of the Day

This dress is far from practical. But I love it. It reminds me of those awesome 80s wedding gowns that were short in the front with a train in the back. (Remember Stephanie Seymour in the Guns n' Roses video for "November Rain?" Classic). This dress is perfect for the summer (or a casual wedding), so I'm not quite sure why Free People would release this as a winter look. Oh well. It's so wrong I like it. Kind of like a pug's face.

I would like to wear this off the shoulder cashmere sweater paired with leggings every single day this winter. Do you think people at work will notice?

Beautiful Weekend

I've really been slacking on my photos the past few weeks. Excuses aside, I've just been plain old lazy and a bit uninspired. For now, enjoy this photo I took of Brooklyn doing what she does best.
